The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay

The stress of the end of the semester is very difficult to overcome! Procrastination is getting the best of me and I wish I would have done some things differently.  This is definitely a learning experience to really manage my own time better.  I am almost finished with reading the novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and has turned out to be a really good book! At first it was really slow, and it jumped around a lot, but once Kavalier got to New York everything started to make more sense and flow better.  The last essay we have to write has got me really thinking how I can compare myself to the novel and the characters in the story. Kavalier is an all around go-getter. He really just wants what is best for himself and his family, and is willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen. He is also very talented and imaginative.  The novel also gives you an insight of how people lived in the 1930's and 1940's. It is surprisingly different than present day. I am excited to finish out this school year as strong as I can in all of my classes!

  1. I definitely feel you on the stress part! The end of the semester is very chaotic and all of our professors require a lot of stuff to be turned in. I agree that this class was a huge test on time management and self discipline. When professors dont have specific due dates its easier for us as young adults to procrastinate but it was a good lesson to be learned. I wish I would have been able to get through the book myself, but i just could not get into it no matter how hard I tried. Im glad to hear that it picks up, maybe this summer ill have the chance to finish it.

  3. I definitely can relate to the stress and procrastination part!! I'm the same way. Also, I agree that the novel was good after the beginning when it was really slow.
